AUBURN – Brady Blackmon had two singles, drove in two runs and picked up his first save of the season to lead St. Dom’s past Old Orchard Beach 6-4 on Friday afternoon.
Jimmy Moreau joined Blackmon, tallying two hits, one of which was a double. Brett Carry picked up the win for the Monks who improved to 2-0.
Tom Gorman and Bill Bobix led the Old Orchard offense with two hits apiece. Tomas Mondor took the loss on the hill for the Seagulls who fall to 1-1.
Wiscasset 4, Telstar 1
BETHEL – Ben Emery shut down opposing batters, tossing a complete game two-hitter, allowing no earned runs and striking out five for Wiscasset, as the Redskins downed Telstar 4-1 Friday evening.
Nick Bennett was responsible for all the runs the Redskins would need on the afternoon. He drove in Wiscasset’s first run in the fourth inning with a double and then came around to score the eventual game-winner with two outs on a throwing error by Telstar’s second baseman.
Terry Collins took the loss for the Rebels despite pitching a strong game, allowing no earned runs, and striking out 10 while walking only three. August Reiss scored the lone run for Telstar after doubling in the fifth inning and moving to third. Steven Scotti lifted a deep flyball to score Reiss from third.
Wiscasset stays unbeaten on the young season with a 2-0 record, while Telstar falls to 0-2.
Livermore 7, Lisbon 3
LIVERMORE FALLS – Tyler Cote delivered a grand slam with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Livermore Falls to a 7-3 victory over Lisbon on Friday.
Brad Bryant picked up his second win of the season on the hill for Livermore Falls, and helped himself out at the plate scattering, three hits on the afternoon. Levi Armandi and Cote each had two hits for the Andies.
Payton Austin pitched a strong game for the Greyhounds. Mike Williams had three hits for Lisbon and teammate Chirs Kates added two. Lisbon falls to 0-4 on the season, while Livermore Falls improves to 3-1.
