GORHAM – Craig Nicely smacked the game-winning double in the bottom of the eighth to bring home Craig Woodbrey as Gorham escaped with a 5-4 victory over Poland in baseball action on Saturday. Gorham stays undefeated at 8-0.

Mark Schmitt had two hits, including a triple, and Jake Blaisdell scored two runs for Gorham.

Tyler Merchant was the only repeat hitter for Poland (3-1).

Gould 3, Hebron 1

BETHEL – Karl Olsen pitched a complete-game with 14 strikeouts and gave up just three hits to lead Gould to a 3-1 victory over Hebron Academy on Saturday.

Gould (4-3) scored all of its runs in the bottom of the fifth highlighted by a single from Bump Heldman that scored Will Carver.

Helman stole second and third and scored on a bad throw from the catcher.

Hebron’s only run came in the top of the fourth when Greg Gumbs singled, then stole second and third and scored on a bad throw to third.

Lacrosse

Oak Hill 17, Camden Hills 1

WALES – Brad Krook and Casey Behne tallied four goals apiece to lead Oak Hill to a 17-1 victory over Camden Hills in a boys’ lacrosse game on Saturday.

Joey Gilbert netted three goals while Chris Sherman scored a goal and had two assists for the Raiders (1-1).

Moler Turner scored the lone goal for Camden Hills (0-2). Oak Hill scored seven goals in the first quarter.
