GARDNER – Samantha Dolloff smacked a three-run homer and finished with four RBIs to lead Oxford Hills to an 11-2 victory over Gardiner in softball action on Saturday.
Lauren Austin went 3-for-4 and Jill Cole hit a double and scored a run for the Vikings (4-1).
Randi Arsenault went five innings and struck out six to pick up the win.
Gardiner (0-5) scored its two runs in the third when Jess Fish hit a two-run single that scored Amanda Cray and Amanda Abbott.
Mt Abram 5, Mountain Valley 3
SALEM – Ashley Dalessandro hit two doubles with four RBIs to lead Mt. Abram to a 5-3 victory over Mountain Valley in a softball matchup on Saturday.
Mt. Abram scored three runs in the third highlighted by a two-run double from Dalssandro that scored Logahn Walker and Morgan Cummings.
Logahn Walker finished with two hits, an RBI and two runs scored. Roadrunners’ starter Katie Walker went the distance to pick up the win.
Kelly Palmer led Mountain Valley with two singles.
Jay 7, Winthrop 0
JAY – Pitcher Bree Loon went the distance, giving up just four hits and no walks while striking out 13, to lift Jay to a 7-0 win against Winthrop (0-2) in a softball game on Saturday.
Kaylee Demillo went 3-for-4 with two runs scored for Jay (4-0). Tiffany Couture hit a two-run double and finished with two hits for the Tigers.
Nicole Emery was the only Winthrop player with two hits.
Telstar 18, Hall-Dale 0
FARMINGDALE – Jillian Kimball tossed a one-hit shutout as Telstar blanked Hall-Dale 18-0 in MVC softball action Saturday.
The Rebels (3-0) were led by Abby Hutchins’ offensive leadership, garnering three hits, including a pair of doubles.
The Bulldogs (0-3) received their lone hit off the bat of Caitlin Laflin.
Poland 9, Gorham 0
GORHAM – Kelli O’Connor threw a four-hit shutout with four strikeouts and no walks to carry Poland past Gorham, 9-0, in softball.
O’Connor and Courtney Clark had three hits apiece for the Knights (4-0).
Poland’s Dani Bellanger and Rachel Roberts each hit RBI triples in the contest.
Hebron 20, Gould 13
HEBRON – Hebron exploded for 19 runs in the first and fourth innings to walk off with a 20-13 win over Gould in softball action Saturday.
Megan Irving and Tiffany Bichrest tallied doubles for Hebron (3-1), while teammates Katherine Cole and Amy Shackford roped triples in the win.
Gould’s (2-2) catcher, Mary Allen, tagged a home run.
Lacrosse
Mountain Valley 10, EL 9
RUMFORD – Angie Child found the back of the net with 1:53 left for the game-winning goal as Mountain Valley ruined an Edward Little comeback with a 10-9 win in a girls’ lacrosse game.
Jessica Allen netted six goals for the Falcons (1-3).
Mountain Valley was ahead 9-5 in the second half, then the Red Eddies scored four straight goals with Beth Esponette netted the game-tying goal.
Esponette and Katie Bonney finished with three goals apiece for Edward Little (1-2).
Hebron 5, Kents Hill 1
HEBRON – Taylor Fey scored the first and last goal as Hebron sailed to a 5-1 win over Kents Hill in girls’ lacrosse action Saturday.
Jill Campbell nailed the eventual game-winner for Hebron (5-1) in the opening minutes of the second half on a conversion from K.J. Forand.
Kents Hill’s Jill Doherty spoiled the shutout with a goal at the 16:05 mark of the second half.
