AUGUSTA – Andrew Joy banged out a 2-run single in the fifth inning to start a nine-run rally as Lewiston established a come-from-behind 13-8 victory over Cony for its first win of the season.

The Rams (3-2) were leading 5-1 when Brian Nason singled to lead off the fifth inning for the Blue Devils (1-3). Following a sacrifice and a pair of walks, Joy singled to knock in a pair of runs. Chad Guimond then cracked another single to chase the Cony pitcher from the game.

Jared Berube provided a two-run single for Cony, while Tom Yerrick cranked a solo home run in fifth inning to make it 10-6.

Buckfield 7, Richmond 1

BUCKFIELD — Cy Wilkinson scattered three hits and one run over seven innings to earn the win and lift Buckfield to a 7-1 win over Richmond in an EWC baseball action Monday.

Wilkinson took a one-hitter into the seventh inning. Chris Reuter had three hits and two RBIs for the Bucks (3-0), while Justin Dodge’s double was the only extra base hit of the game.

Glendon Kendrick gave up four runs in four innings and was the pitcher of record for the Bobcats (3-1).

Oxford Hills 11, Leavitt 0

TURNER – Corey Saunders hit a grand slam in the second inning as Oxford Hills slammed the door shut on Leavitt with an 11-0 victory in KVAC baseball action Monday.

The Vikings (5-1) scored four runs in the first inning and added another seven runs in the second frame. Derek Varney had three hits, including a double for Oxford Hills.

Starting pitcher Bryan Metayer of the Hornets (1-4) suffered the loss.

Brunswick 3, EL 2

BRUNSWICK – Nate Wohrobe led off with a bunt single, stole second, was sacrificed to third and then scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth to lift Brunswick to a 3-2 victory over Edward Little.

Josh Clark had two hits and an RBI for the Dragons (3-2), while Justin Clark pitched a complete-game, allowing four hits and striking out four.

Matt Nadeau hit an RBI single in the top of the third that scored Tyler Doris. Edward Little starting pitcher Kyle Giguere had a no-hitter through four innings and finished with three strikeouts.

Jay 5, Hall-Dale 3

WINTHROP — Jake Farrington hit a double and two singles to spark Jay to a 5-3 triumph over Hall-Dale.

Steve Nelson went the distance for the Tigers (4-1), striking out seven batters and walking three. Ryan Dipompo added two hits, a single and a double, to help lift Jay.

Dylan Duniho and Jack Leet each had RBI hits for the Bulldogs (0-3).

Oak Hill 3, Maranacook 1

WALES — Mike Eaton fanned 11 batters in a complete-game effort as Oak Hill battled past Maranacook 3-1 in a Class B KVAC baseball game Monday.

Eaton walked one and held the Maranacook bats to five hits to earn the victory for the Raiders (1-3). Eaton also tripled and doubled to finish the game 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Ethan Gurette knocked in the third Oak Hill run with a single in the second inning.

Casey Coin started for the Black Bears (2-2) and gave up three runs in four innings. He also knocked in the only Maranacook run on a base hit in the fourth inning.

Poland 5, Falmouth 3

POLAND – Max Levine limited Falmouth to four hits and struck out five to lead Poland to a 5-3 victory.

It was Levine’s second win of the season. Poland’s Stevie Ray was the lone repeat hitter in the game. Jeremy Callahan and Jason Lehr each singled and scored a run for the Knights (4-1).

Dana Dresser had an RBI single for Falmouth (1-3).

Mt. Blue 16, Medomak Valley 11

WALDOBORO – Justin Lowe belted a grand slam in the top of the third and finished with five RBIs to lift Mt. Blue to a 16-11 victory against Medomak Valley in an eight-inning game.

Mt. Blue scored five runs in the top of the eighth, highlighted by a two-run single by Hal Robbins, who had two hits and four RBIs, for the Cougars (4-1).

Jared Simmons smacked a grand slam in the bottom of the third and also had a double for Medomak Valley (3-3).

Lacrosse
Cony 16, Oak Hill 15 (2OT)

WALES — Chris Gay and Dillon Shaw scored six goals each to lead Cony to a 16-15 double overtime win over Oak Hill in a KVAC lacrosse matchup.

Gay notched the winning goal in the second overtime to lift the Rams (2-1). Cony also received two goals from Adam Morrow and solo goals from Aaron Mernard and Luke Todd.

Owen Foss led the Raiders (1-2) with six goals while Brad Krook and Casey Beenhy added four and three goals.

Hebron 13, Kennett 2

HEBRON — Chris Hamilton tallied four goals and an assist as Hebron enjoyed an easy 13-2 win over Kennett.

Roman Gosney added two goals and an assist for Hebron (5-4) in the win while Charlie Pens finished with three assists. Shane Gray was solid in net for Hebron, making five stops on seven shots.

Seth Bartlet was responsible for both Kennett (0-1) goals.

St. Dom’s 12, Fryeburg 5

FRYEBURG — Kevin Laplante scored three goals and assisted on two others to carry St. Dom’s to a 12-5 victory over Fryeburg in a WMC lacrosse matchup Monday.

Dylan Nadeau added two goals for the Saints (1-1), while Ben Shaw assisted on three goals. St. Dom’s goalkeeper Brian Kasabian made 10 saves on 17 shots for the win.

Matt Dugan-Childs led the Raiders (0-3) with three goals, while Ben Tupaj and Justin Mead also scored.
