DIXFIELD – The Dixfield Main Street Outdoor Market Committee met April 26 at Log Cabin Craftworks. The market date will be Sunday, Aug. 21, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine.

Applications for this year’s market were prepared for mailing to those who participated last year. Anyone wanting an application can contact Ralph or Norine Clarke at 562-8816 days. As always, volunteers for the committee or to help during the day of the event are welcome and those interested can also contact the same number.

The market offers a day of food, fun and booths of craft items, flea market finds, raffle tickets and collectibles. A $15 fee provides a 10-by-15-foot space; vendors must provide their own tables, chairs, tents.

Any funds left after the expenses of the market are paid are used to support community events, which have included the Halloween Walk, Easter Egg Hunt and others.

This year’s committee members include Diane Carleton, Rita Girardin, Felicia Pietila, Paul Jones and Ralph and Norine Clarke.

The third annual Bicentennial Road Race, held on the day of the market, will be organized by Paul Jones. This year’s race will be included in a series called the Maine Games, which make participants eligible to earn points for taking part in the race. For more information about the race, call Paul at 562-7172.
