LEWISTON – The Public Theatre’s 12th annual silent auction opens today at the theater and runs through May 15, coinciding with the theater’s last show of the season, “Rough Crossing” by Tom Stoppard.
“The auction would not be possible without the generous support of the scores of businesses and individuals in our community. We are very grateful for their support,” said Dina Jackson, the auction coordinator.
This year’s auction features more than 150 items ranging from a South African photo safari to a copy of “Nine and Counting; The Women of the Senate” autographed by U.S. Sen. Olympia Snowe, who is one of the nine.
“The array of items is diverse. There really is something for everyone,” Jackson said.
The theater is in downtown Lewiston at the corner of Lisbon and Maple streets. People can see the auction items when attending a show or when the box office is open, during the afternoon from about noon.
