LEWISTON – James R. Tardif, 57, of 22 Mitchell St., Lewiston, died Saturday, April 23, at his residence.
He was born on Sept. 2, 1947, in Lewiston, the son of George A. and Marie P. Deschenes Tardif. He attended Lewiston schools.
He entered the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict, was stationed in Germany working in telecommunications and was discharged as Spec. 5 after his two-year enlistment.
On Jan. 13, 1969, he started working for the New England Tel and Tel Co. (now Verizon) in Lewiston, until his retirement on May 23, 2003, after 34 years.
He was a member of St. Alexandar Nevsky Russian Orthodox Church in Richmond.
He is survived by his spouse, Zee, of Lewiston; two brothers, Gerald A. Tardif of Mechanic Falls and Donald R. Tardif of Auburn; four nieces; three nephews; and aunts, uncles and many cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Jacquelyn Ann Michaud.
He will be sadly missed by his brothers and their families, co-workers and church friends.
