NEW GLOUCESTER – The second annual International Art & Cultural Festival, a one-day international celebration and fund-raiser, will be held May 14 at Pineland.

Sponsored by the Fiddlehead Center for the Arts, it will include music, art, food and activities from around the world. Opening ceremonies are at 9:30 a.m. A participatory street parade will begin at 9:45 a.m., followed by a day of activities.

Festival attendees will enjoy performances by dancers, puppeteers, actors, and storytellers, as well as wandering acts such as mimes, jugglers, and stilt walkers. Hands-on activities for children of all ages include clay, language, music and art. The International Food Court will be open all day Saturday with food vendors offering a selection of international fare and over 25 artisans will be selling their wares.

“This will truly be a celebration of art and culture from around the world,” says Jacinda Cotton-Castro, business director for Fiddlehead Center for the Arts. “Not only will there be non-stop performances by world-class entertainers, but we will also offer many one-of-a-kind, hands-on art and music activities not to mention the international food!”

All events and activities will be under tents and in the Fiddlehead Center for the Arts building. Tickets: $6; children under 12, free. The center is at 83 Pineland Drive at the Pineland Campus in New Gloucester. FMI: call (207) 688-2244.
