SANFORD – Juli A. Corkum, 43, a resident of Lyman, died unexpectedly Thursday, May 5, in the emergency room at Goodall Hospital in Sanford.

She was born in Lewiston on Jan. 9, 1962, the daughter of James A. and Miriam (Ryan) Charlton of Leeds. She was educated in Leeds schools, and graduated from Leavitt Area High School.

She was married to Barry Corkum for 10 years, and they later divorced but remained friends.

She worked as a CNA at various nursing homes in the Lewiston area, and also worked for several years at Cumberland Farms on Main Street in Lewiston.

In recent years, she was a stay-at-home mom.

She will be sadly missed by everyone that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Brandon Corkum, of Lewiston, and his fiance, Amanda Scott, of Lisbon Falls; her daughter, Mercedi Corkum, of Lyman; her parents of Leeds; eight sisters, Jamie Freeman and her husband, Vincent, of Turner, Joni White and her husband, Donald, of Leeds, Juni Thompson of Blue Hill, Jeani Preszler and her husband, Timothy, of Dover, Del., Judi White and her husband, Roy, of Leeds, Jodi Loonan and her husband, Sean, of New York, Jena Millette and her husband, Eric, of Auburn, and Jill Charlton of Delaware; and a brother, James E. A. Charlton, of Leeds.

She will also be sadly missed by many aunts and uncles; 13 nieces and nephews; and four great-nieces and nephews.
