PORTLAND – Arline Francis Philbrick, 81, died Monday, May 9, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

She was born Sept. 15, 1923, in Lewiston, the daughter of Michael and Marjory (Ham) Harkins. She was educated in the Lewiston schools.

On Oct. 10, 1942, she married Harry C. Philbrick Jr., in Lewiston. He passed away on Aug. 5.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and an active member of the advisory board of South Portland/Scarborough, Assembly 3 and the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. She attended Thornton Heights United Methodist Church in South Portland, and represented the church as a member of the United Methodist Women and the Church Woman United.

She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Landreville and her husband, Daniel, of Greene and Sue Ann Gallant and her husband, John, of Gorham; three grandchildren, Daniel DiDonato and his wife, Ann Marie, of Lewiston, and Joseph and Brittany Gallant; two great-grandchildren, Alia Marie and Adria Danielle DiDonato; three sisters, Barbara Connor and her husband, Eugene, of Poland, Rose Stephenson and her husband, Dewey, of Waterboro and Cecelia Harkins of Lewiston; and a brother, Michael Harkins and his wife, June, of Waterboro.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Hankins; and a brother, Daniel Harkins.
