FARMINGTON – Maine Attorney General Steven Rowe will talk about abuse of the elderly during a four-hour seminar Wednesday at Franklin Memorial Hospital. The free seminar begins at 10 a.m. in the G.H. Bass Room. In addition to Rowe, Detective Michael Webber of the Attorney General’s Office will talk about financial crimes against the elderly, while Ricker Hamilton of the state Bureau of Protective Services will discuss how to identify elder abuse and what to do about it. Elder abuse can include physical, emotional and sexual abuse, as well as exploitation, neglect and abandonment. The seminar is being sponsored by the Farmington hospital and the Sandy River Center for Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
