LEWISTON – AARP, Androscoggin Chapter 4077, will meet at 1:15 p.m. Monday, May 16, at the Multi-Purpose Center. The board of directors will meet at 12:30 p.m.

Jud Dolphin, AARP state director, will install the new slate of officers. Dolphin comes to AARP with a background in community organizing and public policy advocacy. He serves nearly 200,000 AARP members in Maine and is responsible for developing partnerships with various organizations and coordinating an array of educational advocacy and community service activities.

The Indiana Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers named him Citizen of the Year in recognition of contribution to the well-being of the community. Dolphin will also bring members up-to-date on AARP activities and will be available to answer questions.

Arnold Leavitt, who will be installed president, will be available to discuss programs taking place in Augusta and the involvement of AARP in the plans.

Since the chapter has been busy collecting food items for the May Day of Service, members are reminded to bring them to complete the food basket and deliver it where needed.

Guests are invited to attend and to join the group which is open to all 50 years of age and older. Attendance and pot of gold drawing will be held and refreshments will be served.
