LEWISTON – The American League of the Lewiston Rec Men’s Softball League will inaugurate a new season tonight. The National League began play last night.

The American League has 8 entries. The teams and managers follow: La Outcast, Joe Bailey; Ducharme Masonry B, Robie Ducharme; Scott Thayer Auto, Grant Sperry; Hart Transportation, Chad Lupick; Fast Breaks, Ernie Hamel; Mockler Construction, Al Mockler; SW, Sam Wilson; SOCHS, Chris Howe.

Tonight’s opening schedule, with all games at 6:00: Fast Breaks vs Mockler, Upper Franklin; Scott Thayer vs SOCHS, Randall-1; Hart vs SW, Randall-2; Ducharme B vs La Outcast, Randall-3.

Umps’ tourney slated

LEWISTON – Openings remain for the annual Andy Valley Softball Umpires Association Memorial Tournament scheduled for June 10-12 in the Twin Cities.

There wil be two brackets, B and D. Entry fee is $175 with the deadline for registration being May 30.

Bath tourney planned

BATH – The sixth annual Benefit Softball Tournament, sponsored by Cases and Cartons, is set for June 24-26. Proceeds will benefit the Cancer Foundation.

Eligible for the tourney are C, D and E teams. Entry fee is $150. Deadline for registration is June 1.
