AUBURN – The Auburn Catholic Community will host a daylong retreat on Saturday, May 14, at St. Philip’s Church, Route 4. Topic will be “The Eucharist: Source and Summit of the Christian Life.”

The retreat will begin at 9 a.m. and it will be a time for presentations, small and large group reflection, personal prayer, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction, and will conclude with the 4 p.m. Mass. There is no cost, and participants are asked to bring a bag lunch.

During this year of the Eucharist, Catholics were given the special invitation by the late Pope John Paul II to celebrate the gift and mystery of the Holy Eucharist in the life of the Catholic Church.

This will be an opportunity for all to appreciate the special means of Communion with the Savior, to reflect on His presence in lives, in the community and in the church.
