AUBURN – Auburn Suburban Little League will conduct opening ceremonies on Saturday, May 14 at 10 a.m. at Austin Field at the Cliff Rydholm Complex on the Garfield Road.

Representatives from Wal-Mart and the Auburn Exchange Club will throw out the ceremonial first pitches. Games will be played prior to and after the ceremonies. Parents and sponsors are welcome to attend.

LEWISTON – A Scrapbook Affair earned 2 victories in recent action in the Minor Division. Scrapbook beat Chick-A-Dee 4-1 as Zack McBride and Matt Chasse were repeat hitters. Pitchers Evan Bourassa and Nick Boom combined for 15 strikeouts. Josh Thomas ripped a double for Chick-A-Dee. . . McBride clubbed a bases-loaded double to plate 3 runs and break a 2-2 tie as Scrapbook defeated Labadie’s Bakery 5-2. Keenan Lynch contributed a 2-bagger. Bourassa was the winning hurler. Ethan Melvin was the big stick for the Bakers. . . Heutz Oil beat Emerson as Greg Alexander whacked a 2-run double.

South Lewiston

LEWISTON – Dube Gravel improved to 2-1 in the Major Division with a 9-5 victory over Hammond Lumber. Nathan Fairchild was the winning pitcher in his debut on the mound, hurling 4 strong innings. Brian Doyle closed it out. Fairchild aided his cause with a 3-3 night, knocking in 4 runs. Chris DeFosse was 2-2 with 2 RBI. Scott Gagne and Jared Bourgoin had hits for Hammond. Dube will meet Aroostook Fence Friday.
