LEWISTON – The Midcoast Symphony will present a program of family favorites in its final concert of the season.

Performances will be Friday, May 20, at the Franco-American Heritage Center in Lewiston and Saturday, May 21, at the Orion Performing Arts Center in Topsham. Both concerts are at 7:30 p.m.

The orchestra’s final program is designed to appeal to audience members of all ages.

The 60-member community orchestra, under the direction of Rohan Smith, performs four concerts a year in Lewiston and Topsham, as well as a Christmas program.

Besides performing a wide range of classical and modern orchestral literature, the orchestra invites outstanding soloists, primarily from New England, to perform in several of its concerts each season.

As part of the orchestra’s efforts to make classical music available to young audience members, the upcoming concerts are free for those 21 and under. Tickets for adults are $12 and are available in advance at the Franco-American Heritage Center, Carroll’s Music and Victor News in Lewiston, Gulf of Maine Books in Brunswick, Magnolia in Bath, and at the door. More information about the orchestra and the concert program may be found at www.midcoastsymphony.org or by calling 371-2028.
