AUGUSTA – The “3rd Sundays at Jewett” concert series sponsored by University of Maine at Augusta’s College of Arts and Humanities and UMA Senior College will feature Gary Wittner and Don Stratton at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 15, in Jewett Hall auditorium.

Trumpeter Stratton and guitarist Wittner have been playing together for nearly 20 years. They have performed and lectured throughout the Northeast and in 1989 were among the first American jazz musicians to perform in Leningrad, Russia, which is now St. Petersburg.

The concert will be in two parts: first, a lecture-demonstration about different forms of jazz and American music and, after the intermission, a concert featuring Don’s daughter on drums.

Jewett Hall Art Gallery will be open to concertgoers 1 to 5 p.m. where the UMA Senior Art Exhibition is on display.

Tickets: $10 for general admission; $5 for students; children 12 and younger, admitted free. Tickets will be available at the door; or call 621-3551; or e-mail umasc@maine.edu.
