BRUNSWICK – The Second Friday Art Walk in Brunswick and Topsham will begin today. Galleries and studios are open from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on the second Friday of the month; many feature openings and serve refreshments. The openings are free and open to the public.

The Second Friday Art Walk provides an opportunity to visit a number of galleries in one evening, socialize with friends, and discover new artists. Bright yellow and black Art Walk flyers, with gallery listings and map, may be picked up at galleries and shops in downtown Brunswick.

Walks will be held from May through October.

Participating in the May 13 walk are the following studios and galleries: Maine Fiberarts with Perspective on Braiding: unusual rugs by Nancy Young; The Applecart Press with Digital and Classic Letterpress Printing; The Window Tree with Near Sights: Paintings by Roberta Goschke; Bayview Gallery with New England Perspectives: Charles Movalli and Dale Ratcliff; Whatnot Gallery at Spindleworks with Artists’ Proof: explorations in printmaking and The Dresses: an installation of hand sewn dresses by Jeanette Baribeau; Left Of Center Artworks with Opening Celebration Group show: Nancy Coyne, Deborah Gordon, Caroline Partlow, Natasha Kempers-Cullen, and guests; Gallery Framing with From Harlem to Hallowell: Mixed media collage by Allan Tuttle; Park Row Interiors with Katherine Harman Harding: oil paintings.

The Theater Project will stage a community production of “The Phantom Tollbooth” at 7:30 p.m.

All sites are in downtown Brunswick and Topsham within walking distance on one another.
