For those of us who spent most of our childhood – and some of our adulthood – daydreaming about what it would be like to be a Jedi Knight or a Sith Lord, the new “Star Wars” game is the answer to our prayers.

But expect a temporary case of attention deficit disorder brought on by the Dark Side.

Fans awaiting the newest “Star Wars” movie have a rare opportunity this time around to take a look at the game before the movie hits theaters on May 19 – including more than 12 minutes of footage taken directly from the movie.

From the first moment on, you can play as both Anakin Skywalker and Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi – battling gun-wielding droids, using the Force to move objects out of your way and ultimately testing yourself against the most unlikely of enemies.

As you advance through the 16 levels, you earn skill points that allow you to decide which aspects of both the Light and Dark Side of the Force you want to improve.

Between and within levels, players even get the chance to watch clips from the movie that drive the game and movie story line. Not only does the game plot mimic the movie, but the sound effects, stunt movement and visuals are amazingly similar to the always spectacular views and settings of the film.

The game could be a little longer, but the multiplayer and bonus levels can keep you entertained for hours. In versus mode, choose from a wide array of characters like Obi-Wan, Mace Windu and the newly-turned-evil Darth Vader in a Mortal Kombat-style lightsaber duel.

This game is a great end to the timeless saga.

In the words of Master Yoda, buy this game you should. Like it you will.
