LISBON – Former Selectman Edward Madden defeated Steven Curtis, 271-189, in a two-way race for a single opening on the Board of Selectmen in Saturday’s municipal election. The seat is being vacated by L. Scott D’Amboise.

Elected unopposed were Prudence Grant for School Committee and James Gurney Jr. for Water Commission, with 331 and 414 votes, respectively. Robin Tuppr was elected to the Library Governing Board with 19 write-in votes; there were no listed candidates for that office. All those elected will serve three-year terms.

A scant 471 of 6,636 registered voters participated in the election. Town meeting on articles 3-93 gets under way 7 p.m. Monday at the high school gymnasium.
