RUMFORD – Mary L. Wiken, 92, died Thursday, May 12, at the Rumford Hospital, Rumford. She was a resident of Plymouth Avenue in Rumford for many years.

She was born in Rumford on Dec. 21, 1912, a daughter of Anthony and Marijuna (Vilkas) Lukasius, and graduated from Mexico High School in 1931.

She worked at Boise Cascade Paper Co. in Rumford for more than 40 years, until retiring from the paper cutter department.

She was a communicant of St. Athanasius-St. John Church, and a member of the Boise Cascade Paper Co. 25 and 40 Year Club.

She was married in Livermore Falls on Aug. 23, 1952, to the late Erlon H. “Swede” Wiken who died in Rumford on Aug. 23, 1986.

Survivors include her niece, Cynthia A. Mortus, of Newport News, Va.; and cousins, Stella and Renee of Toronto, Ontario.
