LEWISTON – Two construction projects in different parts of the city over coming days are expected to cause traffic hassles for some motorists.

On Thursday and Friday, construction is scheduled to begin in the area of 841 Main St., a heavily traveled area. That work will continue both days between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

The project will cause lane closures, and flaggers will be out directing traffic around the area. Police are advising drivers who normally use that route to find an alternative for those two days.

On May 23, 24 and 25, more work is planned on Cedar Street between Lisbon Street and the South Bridge. Grinding and paving will be done between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. The work will require closures of some lanes and an entire section of Cedar Street during some parts of those days.

Again, police are advising that motorists seek alternate routes until the work is completed.
