FARMINGTON – The SAD 9 Music Department will hold its annual spring concert series in area schools. The concerts are the final presentation for the last trimester of music study in the elementary, middle and high schools.

During the concerts the Mt. Blue Music Boosters will present more than $3,000 in music scholarships to assist students with summer lessons and to attend summer music camps.

The schedule includes:

Monday, May 23: Weld School will hold its Fine Arts Evening at 6:30 p.m. at the Weld Town Hall. Music teacher at the Weld School is Jane Parker.

Thursday, May 26: Mt. Blue High School Spring Concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the high school gym.

Featured will be the high school band, jazz band, orchestra and chorus under the leadership of Karen Beacham, Steve Muise and Carol Shumway.

Tuesday, May 31: Mt. Blue Middle School will present its band, orchestra and choral concert under the direction of Darryl Pike, Steve Muise and Jim Perkins. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. at Mt. Blue Middle School.

Wednesday, June 1: The fourth- and fifth-grade band, chorus and orchestras at Cascade Brook School will present their concert at 10 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. at Cascade Brook School. The music teachers at Cascade Brook School include Darryl Pike and Karen Beacham, Jane Parker and Nancy Beacham.

Thursday, June 2: Academy Hill School in Wilton will present its bands, choruses and orchestras during a 1:30 p.m. concert at Academy Hill School under the direction of Darryl Pike, Karen Beacham, Steve Muise and Andy Buckland.

Friday, June 3: The bands, orchestras and chorus at Cape Cod Hill School in New Sharon will present their concert at 10 a.m. at the Cape Cod Hill School under the direction of Karen Beacham, Darryl Pike, Nancy Beacham and Andy Buckland.

Wednesday, June 8: The sixth-grade band, chorus and orchestra at Cascade Brook School will be held at 9:45 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The concert is under the direction of Karen Beacham, Jane Parker and Nancy Beacham.
