RUMFORD – The next Senior Citizens membership meeting will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 23, at the Rumford Senior Center, 50 Congress St.

There will be a guest speaker from Western Maine Transportation to talk about services.

Burnout

MEXICO – A burnout competition will take place Sunday, May 22, at the Mexico Recreation Park. Registration will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. with the burnouts beginning at 11:30. There will be raffles and concessions all day.

The cost is $5 for three runs, which will be from 30 seconds to one minute and pop-ems. The price for spectators will be $2.

Three will be four classes: hot rods, cars, trucks and others. There will be a rental car available. There will also be a smash-a-car contest.
