LEWISTON – Bruce M. Smith Sr., 62, of Lewiston died Friday morning, May 20, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Portsmouth, N.H., on Aug. 2, 1942, the son of Robert and Sylvia (Wood) Smith Sr.

On Oct. 1, 1960, he married Marjorie Davis, and she died on March 2, 2001.

He worked for many years in various shoe shops in the surrounding area and later worked in construction in Connecticut.

He was a member of the ACME Social Club where he enjoyed socializing with his friends.

He loved his grandchildren and was a very kind person who always was willing to help others.

He is survived by his sons, Bruce Smith Jr. and his wife, Diana, of Lewiston, and Tim Smith and his fiance, Carrie, of Massachusetts; three grandchildren, Tiana and Jade Smith, of Lewiston, and Molly Smith, of Massachusetts; three sisters, Lois Richard and her husband, Herbert, of Machias, Cheryl Chartier, of Standish, and Josie Alimandi and her husband, Robert, of Lewiston; two brothers, Robert Smith Jr., and Dennis Smith, both of Lewiston.

He was predeceased by his brother, Rodney Smith Sr.
