CROMWELL, Conn. – George E. Hebert, 87, of Cromwell, Conn., died Wednesday, May 18.

He was born July 26, 1917, in Frenchville, one of 12 children of Honore and Elmina Gagnon Hebert. He was retired from the Connecticut Carpenters Union since 1983.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 22 of Lewiston, and the Andy Valley Assembly 4th Degree Knights of Columbus of Auburn, and the Auburn Catholic Community at Sacred Heart Church.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Antoinette Laliberte Hebert, of Cromwell, Conn.; children, Jacqueline Walsh, of Cromwell, Conn., Paul Hebert and wife, Barbara, of New Hartford, Conn., Donald Hebert and wife, Ann Marie, of Honeybrook, Pa., Doris Hebert-Ferrigno, of Venice, Fla., Jeanne Yarrow and husband, Robert, of Lambertville, N.J., and Michael Hebert and wife, Carol, of Eagleville, Pa.; a sister, Jeanne Labonte and husband, Dominic, of Lewiston; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
