After reading the article in the May 18 edition about the town of Hartford’s voting snafu, I was in shock. To see that the ballot box was opened, ballots removed, and the voters who had already voted contacted and asked to vote again is not acceptable.
What about privacy, not to mention the fact that someone’s name had been left off the ballot altogether.
Another question: Why was one of the candidates, town clerk or not, handling the voting material?
It’s time that outside parties get involved and look into this town and the goings-on, before we are sued for the “mistakes” that seem to happen in numerous areas.
