WESTBROOK – The Maine Credit Union League presented its annual awards during its 67th annual meeting and convention recently in Augusta.

Nominees are submitted by credit unions, with the final winners determined by the league’s Awards and Convention Committee.

Among the winners was Denise Ouellette, winner of the Diane L. Oceretko People Helping People Award.

Ouellette, vice president at Ste. Croix Regional Federal Credit Union in Lewiston, was the second recipient of this newly established award honoring Oceretko, a longtime employee at Midcoast Federal Credit Union in Brunswick who died of cancer at age 51 in 2002.

Ouellette was recognized for her involvement in local animal shelters, holiday fund-raisers and other contributions to her community throughout the year.
