I sit in class

Waiting for time to pass

When I notice a little fly

I whispered “Shoo fly don’t bother me.”

I just wish that fly would flee.

I swatted at that little bugger

And a little louder I said “Shoo fly don’t bother me.”

This fluttering freakish fly

Would just not die.

Finally when I just couldn’t stand it

I yelled “Shoo fly don’t bother me!”

It seemed to listen just in time,

And when he turned to flee, it said “Just don’t bother me.”

But then I had to deal with my teacher,

Oh my!!!
