Does anybody care if the board at SAD 43 is closing Virginia Elementary School to students K-5? They will, however, allow it to stay open for a very few students. How few? This depends on who I speak with. Some say seven and some others have said 10 and 12. Yes, that’s what I’ve heard, seven to 12 students.

My oh my, who in heck came up with this doozy of an idea? Let’s disrupt over 100 kids, their teachers and staff for the benefit of a few. We are being taken for a ride, and there is no doubt about it. Someone in the systems wants VES closed and has been trying to do it for years. This is the first step toward the goal.

It will be accomplished, too, if we don’t rally to the cause.

I have a few questions, too. Will VES still be a part of SAD 43? If the board is asking for $200,000, is the town of Mexico paying a share of this?
