FRYEBURG – VFW Post 6783 and the town of Fryeburg will sponsor a parade and memorial service honoring all deceased veterans of the nation’s armed forces at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 29.

Parade grand marshals and honored guests will include Fryeburg’s citizen-soldiers of the 133rd Engineer Battalion, state Sen. David Hastings, a Fryeburg Academy musical ensemble, the Molly Ockett Middle School Marching Band, VFW Post 6783 Honor Guard, State Police Color Guard and a parade of fire trucks and old cars.

All who desire to march are welcome – kids, bikes, groups. Parade line-up will begin at 12:30 p.m. The memorial service will follow, including a wreath-laying, firing squad and “Taps” for fallen comrades. The memorial service will go on, rain or shine. Listen to local radio stations for parade cancellation information.
