AUBURN – Elisha Dorso knocked in three runs on two hits in an opener and added a three-run home run in the nightcap to lead St. Dom’s to easy 11-0 and 14-0 victories over Traip Academy in a softball doubleheader on Friday.

Emily Goss fired a three-hitter in Game 1, retiring 13 of 15 batters with strikeouts. Danielle Jameson matched Goss’ three-hitter in Game 2, and fanned 10 for the Saints (11-1).

Goss and Laura Robitzek each ripped two-run triples, while Abby Gilbert chipped in with a two-run double in the opener.

Traip falls to 2-11.

Rangeley sweeps

RANGELEY – Kate Jamison pitched a complete-game one-hitter with four strikeouts to lead Rangeley to a 14-2 win against Forest Hills in Game 1 of a softball doubleheader on Friday.

Jamison also had two RBIs for, while Ali Godaire smacked a double for the Lakers (11-3). Rangeley’s Rania Eustis was the only repeat hitter of the game. Tora Aehex had the lone hit for Forest Hills.

In the second game, Ashley Quminby had three hits to power Rangeley to an 18-5 triumph over Forest Hills. Kelley Brooks went the distance to pick up the win. Kate Jamison tripled for the Lakers. Lisa Brown and Leann Doyle each had two hits, including a double for Forest Hills.

Lisbon 14, Winthrop 0

WINTHROP – Nikki Strople had two hits, including a double and a pair of RBIs, as Lisbon defeated Winthrop 14-0 in an MVC softball matchup on Friday. Soleil Mathieu had three hits for the Greyhounds (10-5).

Jen Hogan was the starting pitcher for Lisbon, giving up no hits threw three innings to earn her ninth victory of the season. Winthrop had no hits in the game.

MCI 3, Oak Hill 2

WALES – Lauren Adams hit a lead-off triple and scored the game-winning run on an RBI-single off the bat of Lyla Lemari to give MCI a 3-2 triumph over Oak Hill in softball action on Friday.

Ashley Currier went 4-for-4 and Lamari went 3-for-4 for the Huskies. Jordan Kennedy went the distance, giving up three hits and striking out 13 to pick up the win.

Angie Russell doubled for Oak Hill.

Poland 6, Freeport 1

FREEPORT – Rachel Roberts went 4-for-4 with a triple, a run scored and an RBI to lead Poland to a 6-1 victory over Freeport in softball action on Friday.

Brianna Pratte went the distance, giving up three hits and striking out three to pick up her fourth win of the season for Poland (9-5). The Knights’ Robyn Gauthier hit an RBI single that scored Becky Lindquist.

Freeport’s (5-9) lone run came in the first on a fielders’ choice hit by Sabrinna Best, which brought in pitcher Brittany Doane.

Leavitt 1, Morse 0

TURNER – Caroline Bochtler plated Melissa Chadbourne for the game-winning run on a fielder’s choice in the second inning as Leavitt squeaked by with a 1-0 win over Morse in KVAC softball action on Friday.

Chadbourne had singled before stealing second and advancing to third on a passed ball to set up for the Hornets’ (7-7) lone run.

Brittany Gurney picked up her third mound win of the season with a fine pitching performance for the shutout.

Cony 6, Oxford Hills 0

AUGUSTA – Monica White tossed a one-hit shutout as Cony blanked Oxford Hills 6-0 in KVAC softball action on Friday.

White contributed a pair of hits, including a double for the Rams. Randi Arsenault took the mound loss for the Vikings.

Mtn. Valley 14, Boothbay 1

RUMFORD – Mallory Thurston smashed a grand slam in the fourth inning to boost Mountain Valley to a 14-1 win over Boothbay in MVC softball action on Friday.

Thurston knocked the ball out of the park twice for the Falcons (5-8).

Kylie Higgins led the Seahawks’ (3-8) offense with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate.

Lacrosse

Camden Hills 17, Mountain Valley 6

RUMFORD – Lindsey Clement netted a game-high six goals to lift Camden Hills over Mountain Valley 17-6 in a girls’ lacrosse matchup on Friday.

Gwen Maddux added four goals and Maggie McGaw scored three for the Windjammers (4-7). For Mountain Valley, Jessica Allen collected a team-high five goals.

Messalonskee 13, Oxford Hills 5

HEBRON – Heidi Stucki scored a game-high three goals to power Messalonskee over Oxford Hills 13-5 in a KVAC girls’ lacrosse matchup.

The Eagles (7-4) received a pair of goals from Jenna Lettenberger, Kate Tonge and Sarah Roderigue.

For Oxford Hills it was Felicia Starbird with two goals.
