I think that it was very wrong to open the ballot box during the Hartford election. I’m only in the sixth grade, but even I know it’s not supposed to be done during the election unless the ballots are being counted. I know this because my class had a election in November, just as if we were old enough to vote. We all were assigned jobs. The teacher explained them. Of course, one person was assigned to hold the ballot box. The teacher said not to mess around with the votes, meaning change them or look at them or open the box. Someone asked why and she said it was a violation of privacy, and if we lose any of the ballots, it could change the pace of things.

So we taped a shoe box shut with a hole in it. That’s how I know that the ballot box should not be opened unless it is time to count.
