LOW AND BURBANK’S GRANT, N.H. (AP) – Two 17-year-old boys disoriented by a rainstorm atop Mount Madison were helped out of the White Mountain National Forest after spending the night in the wilderness.

Fish and Game Lt. Doug Graleski said Greg Sholomoth of Danvers, Mass., and Nicholas Eudenbach of Newton, N.H., reached the summit Sunday afternoon in a thunderstorm but took the wrong trail off the mountain.

He said a 911 cell phone call from the boys did not have enough information on their location but another group of hikers provided them with shelter overnight and the teens came off the mountain Monday.

The U.S. Forest Service, Androscoggin Valley Search and Rescue and Appalachian Mountain Club members took part in the search.
