FARMINGTON – A property insurance provider for the town of Farmington is suing two contractors and asking the court to award it more than $120,000 in connection with damages at the Farmington Community Center.

Westchester Fire Insurance Co. of New York filed the eight-count civil suit May 19 in Franklin County Superior Court against RPH Inc. of Jay and C.O. Beck & Sons Inc. of Waterville.

The suit alleges that the pipe drain elbow that connected to a roof drain became disconnected and caused water to flow from the roof into the building, causing extensive water damage to the building and items in it, as well a various expenses resulting from emergency repairs.

The lawsuit cites negligence, breach of contract, breach of express and/or implied warranties and breach of workmanlike performance against both companies.
