DIXFIELD – Funeral services for Gladys Conant were held Sunday morning, May 29, at the Dr. G. G. DeFoe Gymnasium at Dirigo High School, with the Rev. Joseph Perham of West Paris officiating. Following services, a family reception was held in the Gladys Conant/Dr. Carroll Howes Student/Community Center. Shannon Sayer, violinist, played a violin interlude and “The Old Rugged Cross.” Dr. Thomas Ward, SAD 21 superintendent of schools, offered welcoming remarks. Joseph Perham led the faith service with an invocation, Psalm 23, a family prayer and a statement of faith. Cynthia Curtis played and sang “In the Garden.” Family members shared personal reflections of the life of Gladys Conant, as did representatives of Farm Credit of Maine and representatives of 4-H Clubs of Maine. Jeannine Murray, soloist, sang “Wind Beneath My Wings.” Burial was at the Canton Point Cemetery. Arrangements were in the care of the Wiles Remembrance Center, 42 Weld St., Dixfield.
