FARMINGTON – The Mt. Blue Voices acappella vocal ensemble from Mt. Blue High School will present its annual spring concert at 7 p.m. Friday, June 3, in Nordica Auditorium, Merrill Hall, University of Maine at Farmington.

Some of the titles that will be performed during the concert include James Brown’s soul classic “I Feel Good,” a Beach Boys Medley, the jazz standards “Fever” and “Steppin’ Out with My Baby.” The Voices are joining in the worldwide observance of the birth of Rock and Roll with “Rock around the Clock,” which 50 years ago this month topped the charts and ushered in the Rock era.

The Mt. Blue Voices have invited from Oakland, “Lirima,” the Messalonskee High School select women’s choir, to join them. It is a mixed ensemble of 11 vocalists auditioned from the Messalonskee High School chorus.

The approximately one -hour-long concert is free to all. Donations will be accepted at the door.
