GUILFORD, Conn. – Carolyn M. Abbott, 86, formerly of 108 Court St., Auburn, died early Thursday morning, June 2, at the Fowler Nursing Home, where she had been a resident for the past three years, following a short illness.

She was born in Eastport, April 13, 1919, the daughter of Walter C. and Delia (Sherburne) Gove. She attended Eastport and Auburn schools.

She was a member of the Pomana, the state and national Grange, as well as a member of the Auburn Senior Citizens. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a clerk for the former Cummings Cleaners in Auburn.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis Abbott of Cornish and Fort Charlotte, Fla., and John L. Abbott of Manson, Mass.; one daughter, Susan Sawyer of Madison, Conn.; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by one brother, Ronald Gove.
