STARKS – A plant sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at the Memorial Hall. Plants are available from $1 and up. The sale is sponsored by the Starks Progressive Club.

Tickets at sale

FARMINGTON – Tickets for the annual Fairbanks School Neighborhood Association’s spring raffle will be available at the huge yard and plant sale to be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at the schoolhouse, Route 4, Fairbanks.

There are 15 prizes to be won this year, including the top prize of a $100 gas card. Tickets cost $1 each or six for $5. The drawing will take place on June 20, and for those who are unable to purchase tickets at the yard sale, tickets may be bought by calling Patty at 778-4272.

Worship guest

FARMINGTON – Nathaniel Phillips will be the guest speaker at Fairbanks Union Church for the morning worship service starting at 9 a.m. Sunday, June 5. Phillips, a 2005-2006 senior at Princeton Theological Seminary, is from Industry and will work with Mission at the Eastward this summer. He will direct a leadership program uniting American youth and youth from South Africa. All are welcome.

Ladies seminar

NEW VINEYARD – The Open Bible Baptist Church will hold its 20th annual ladies seminar on Friday and Saturday, June 10 and 11, at the church on Barker Road. The seminar will begin at 6 p.m. Friday and close that evening with a time for refreshments. It will resume at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Ages 10 years and up are welcome. Ski meeting

FARMINGTON – The Farmington Ski Club will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, June 13, at the Titcomb Mountain Lodge, West Farmington. All Farmington Ski Club members are invited. The agenda includes approval of new directors and budget for 2005-2006.

The Titcomb Ski Education Foundation will also meet to confirm officers and directors.

Class slated

AVON – A basic to intermediate taekwondo class will be offered at the Opportunity Center of North Franklin County beginning Tuesday, June 21, and will be held for eight weeks from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays with chief instructor Rob Goding of Goding’s Taekwondo.

Topics to be covered include the origin of taekwondo, health benefits, self-defense, and cardio self-endurance as well as practice in kicking and blocking drills, sparring techniques and more.

The cost of the course is $50 for ages 5 and up. For more information or to register before June 10, call the Office of Adult and Community Education at 678-2701, ext. 226.

Kids exercise

WILTON – The Healthy Community Coalition, a Healthy Maine Partnership, sponsored All Children Exercise Simultaneously Day on May 4.

Most schools in greater Franklin County communities participated, resulting in a total of 2,084 students participating this year. The students joined millions of children from all 50 states and more than 50 countries in creating the world’s largest exercise class.
