LEWISTON – Officers from the Lewiston and Auburn police departments will be at Dunkin Donuts, 319 Main St., from 6 to 10 a.m. today to raise funds for the Special Olympics of Maine.

Officers will work in conjunction with members and staff of the LifeCenter of Auburn to raise the funds.

One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the Special Olympics of Maine. Officers will wear their Law Enforcement Torch Run T-shirts to promote the annual torch run, which will take place on Wednesday, June 8.

Featured event will be a doughnut-eating contest between two police officers.

To date, Maine law enforcement has raised more than $1 million for the Special Olympics of Maine.
