LEWISTON – Jon Fournier and Josh Rivet found the back of the net three times apiece to lead Lewiston past Mt.Blue 13-0 in the first round of the Maine high school lacrosse tournament Friday afternoon.
Bobby Labbe scored twice for the Blue Devils, who had eight different players tally goals in the win.
Jon Collette got the win in net for Lewiston, shutting out the Cougars, who were held to 10 shots against the tough Lewiston defense.
Justin Gordon had 12 saves for Mt.Blue (5-8).
Oxford Hills 14, St. Dom’s 13
SOUTH PARIS – Jesse Strauss notched the game-winner in overtime as Oxford Hills nipped St. Dom’s 14-13 in the first round of the Maine high school lacrosse tournament Friday afternoon.
The Vikings came back from a three-goal deficit to advance to the next round of postseason play. Thomas Kuthe and Strauss recorded five goals each for the Vikings, while Brian Kasabian made 25 saves in the winning effort.
The Saints led 10-9 at the half. Kevin Laplante and Tyler Martin scored a hat trick apiece.
