HILLSBORO, N.H. (AP) – A 9-year-old boy who fell into a stream was trapped under debris by swift water and drowned in Beards Brook, state police said.

Police said the accident happened Sunday afternoon in Beards at Gleason Falls. Police said the victim, Jared Wray of Hancock, had been climbing along rocks near the water’s edge when he fell.
