SPRINGVALE (AP) – An Exeter, N.H., man accused of stabbing a friend to death waived extradition from Maine on Monday and will be arraigned today in New Hampshire.

William Hickman, 22, was arrested Sunday night in Kittery, Maine, after a daylong search. He was charged with second-degree murder in the death of Joseph LeClair, 20.

LeClair was found at Hickman’s Exeter apartment Sunday morning after someone called 911 to report a stabbing. He died a short time later.

An autopsy performed Monday shows LeClair died of multiple stab wounds, officials said.

Hickman was scheduled for arraignment on second-degree murder charges in Exeter District Court.
