DIXFIELD – The Dixfield Historical Society meeting scheduled for Thursday has been canceled so that members may attend the David Saphier Thank You Night at Mountain View Campground.

The next meeting will be held Thursday, June 16, for a Clean the Museum Night. Everyone is welcome to assist. Members are also reminded to save their yard sale items for the annual outdoor market in August.

Items may be dropped off at the Historical Society side porch.

Meal change

RUMFORD – SenoirsPlus has rescheduled the May Lunch and Learn for Thursday, June 9. Lunch will be at 11:30 a.m. with Geri Richards explaining the maple syrup process at noon. Ice cream and syrup will be served, with maple products available to purchase. For dinner reservations or more information, call Kim 364-3572.

Support meeting

RUMFORD – The Alzheimer Support Group will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, at 85 Lincoln Ave. (Armory Building). For more information, contact Donna at 364-3695.

Dads’ breakfast

RUMFORD – The Elks Lodge 862 will serve a Father’s Day breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. Sunday, June 19, at the lodge on River Street.

Officers and members will cook and serve scrambled eggs, beans, hash browns, sausage patties, pancakes, breakfast souffl, toast, juice and coffee.

Society session

PERU – The Peru Historical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, at Rockameka Grange Hall, Peru Center Road. There will be a review of the Oxford County Bicentennial Day in Paris Hill, plans for a supper will be made and a session of “So You Think You Know Maine” will be held.

GOP meeting

STONEHAM – The Oxford County Republican Committee will meet Tuesday, June 14, at the Stoneham Congregational Church, Route 5, Stoneham Village. The social hour will be at 5:30 p.m., with the dinner at 6:30. Bill Becker, executive director of the Maine Heritage Policy Center, will be the featured speaker. All interested citizens are invited to attend.
