LEWISTON – Robert E. Begin, 80, of Auburn, died Monday, June 6, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Lewiston, Aug. 22, 1924, the son of Edward and Laura Plouffe Begin. He was educated in Lewiston schools and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was married Sept. 14, 1968, to Therese Treitinger Morin. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1603 in Auburn, and enjoyed reading and music.

He is survived by his wife of Auburn; a daughter, Beverly Parent and husband, Michael, of Lewiston; two sons, Jim Morin of Lisbon, and John Morin and companion, Tammy Johnson, of Auburn; a sister, Antoinette Boucher of Auburn; four grandchildren, Linda, Chad, Jacob and Jeremey Morin; and a great-granddaughter, Casey. Also several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by four sisters, Jeannette and Germaine Begin, Regina Cote and Irene Caron; and a nephew, Eugene Cote.
