LEWISTON – Dube Gravel split a doubleheader with Aroostook Fence over the weekend in the Major Division. Dube won the second game 9-7 as Sarah Vincent and Jeremy Hamm both whacked 2-run doubles. Chris DeFosse was the winning hurler with Nathan Fairchild pitching 2 frames for the save. Blake Laliberti, Tyler Hartman and Desmond Gagne were the top sticks for Aroostook.
In a battle for first place Monday night, Dube edged Hammond Lumber 6-5, pushing across the winning run in the last of the sixth. Winning hurler Willy Desmarais struck out 8. Fairchild came on inthe sixth to set down the side in order. Jacob Sicotte and Jacob Soucy led the offense. Andrew Gatchell and Chris Belanger belted a triple and double, respectively.
