PHILLIPS – Carl H. Rietschel, 87, of Whispering Pines, died Nov. 10, 2004, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

He was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., a World War II, U.S. Army veteran and retired marketing executive with Exxon Corp.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Masterman Rietschel; daughter, Janet Horst of Old Church, Va.; sons, Carl H. Rietschel Jr., of Trinity and John M. Rietschel of West River, Md.; sister, Doris Ricker of Hanover Park, N.Y.; brother, Raymond Rietschel of Merrick, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren.
