RUMFORD – Mabel G. Hanington, 93, formerly of Swett Avenue, Mexico, died Tuesday, June 7, at her residence at the Rumford Community Home, Rumford.

She was born in Boistown, New Brunswick, on Feb. 14, 1912, the daughter of Alfred and Nellie (Brown) Munn, and attended schools in Doaktown, N.B.

She was a member of the Mexico First Baptist Church.

She was married in Kingfield, on Feb. 16, 1929, to William Aaron Hanington, who died in Rumford on Dec. 21, 1976.

Survivors include grandchildren, Brenda Elliott and husband, David, of Windham, Shelly Dorr and husband, Harold, of Winthrop, Kirby Knight and wife, Tammy, of Clinton, and Stacey Knight of Las Vegas, Nev.; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and son-in-law, William Arthur Knight of Rumford.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Muriel Knight.
