So now we have another “smoking gun,” and it took the British media to expose it. The “Downing Street memo” (July 23, 2002) which is not disputed by the British government, again reveals the Bush administration’s fabrication of “intelligence” to pitch the case for war against a country that posed no threat to the U.S. Let us not forget that 15 of 19 hijackers were Saudis, the dictatorial governing family who is still warmly received in Crawford, Texas, and the White House.

The revenge that we’ve extracted at the expense of tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis and our military personnel has not only been misdirected by a “pack of lies” (British M.P. Galloway) but is immoral.

Despite the right wing’s smoke screen of attack sound bites, the facts prove we are being deliberately and blatantly lied to. Tens of thousands of innocent people have been murdered, and thousands more illegally detained and tortured throughout the world.

Our military personnel have been used as pawns.

If any of this had happened during a Democratic administration, the GOP would have been screaming for impeachment years ago. It is time that our country end the lies by uniting to call for the removal of an administration that is destroying our financial future, our civil rights and our time-tested democracy. Silence is complicity.
