FARMINGTON – Hollis P. Lake, 92, of Weld Road, Wilton, died Thursday evening, June 9, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

He was born Feb. 11, 1913, in East Wilton, the son of Edward and Edith (Mosher) Lake.

He was a 1931 graduate of Wilton Academy.

On Sept. 17, 1937, he married Phyllis Richardson.

He was employed by G. H. Bass Shoe, Brookside Filling Station and retired from the Town of Wilton in 1978.

His family, home and garden were the focus of his life. He often willingly volunteered his services to help transport folks to and from appointments.

Family, friends and the community benefitted from his quiet devotion.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Phyllis, of Wilton; and their four daughters, whom they raised in their Weld Road home, Lida L. and her husband, Robert Trask, of Wilton, June L. and her husband, Martin Todt, of Hampstead, N.H., Beth E. and her husband, James Knowles, of Harwich, Mass., Kris E. and her husband, George Ramos, of Canton; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. He was anxiously awaiting the birth of their 11th great-grandbaby.

He was the last leaf on the family tree, having been predeceased by two sisters and four brothers.
